ABSTRACT

This Paper sets out the principle of the Electrical Earth Leakage Technique for locating holes in roof membranes, and goes on to describe the equipment and method. Site experiences from using the technique on different types of roof construction are included. The Paper is written from the perspective of a practising roofing consultant based in the UK, giving both the advantages and disadvantages of this non-destructive test method that potentially could be used more widely.
